Pieter Lategan - 4 July 2026 | Men's Jacket
Men | Jackets — First Study for a Sleeveless Canvas Zip Jacket
This sketchbook record documents an early menswear jacket study by Pieter Lategan | FASHION, made in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa, on 4 July 2026.
The notes and drawing explore a handmade sleeveless men’s jacket with a front zip, slim fit and casualwear function. The garment is planned in canvas or denim fabric, with a simple structured form that can be developed into a personal prototype.
This is not yet a finished garment. It is a design record: a first note, a visual sketch and a material direction. The value of this page is in the documentation of origin — the date, place, author - me, Pieter Lategan , first construction thoughts, intended fabric and the reason for the garment.
The idea began from a visual reference seen in an Instagram video, but this sketchbook entry records the development of the garment within Pieter Lategan | FASHION. The next stage would be to create a clearer front and back technical sketch, decide on exact measurements, choose the fabric weight, select the zip length and develop the first pattern.
This page forms part of the Pieter Lategan | STUDIO documentation system, where fashion ideas are recorded from the first sketch through to pattern, prototype, finished garment and archive record.
